Occurred: 12/01/2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — President George W. Bush has called Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (MAHN'-moh-hahn SING) and assured him Washington will provide all necessary support in the investigation of the Mumbai attacks. White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe says Bush called Singh on Sunday to say that he stands in solidarity with the Indian leader and the people of India. The rampage that started Wednesday in India's financial capital and ended Saturday killed more than 170 people, including six Americans. Johndroe says Bush told Singh he has directed the U.S. government to devote the necessary resources and personnel to the situation.
